Youth Winter Training 25/26

PSC Youth Winter Training 2025/2026 (members only)

We are running youth training over the winter months on the dates shown below. Open to all youth sailors. We will run the usual Optimist and Topper groups but also plan to train in Fevas. 

This training is aimed at sailors who are interested in improving their sailing skills, including racing. It is hoped this will give them the opportunity and skills to equip them to participate in Optimist and Topper Open meetings and/or Zone Squads. Our aim is to develop skills and confidence in PSC Youth Sailors in more difficult sailing conditions.

Training fee is £80.

You must hold full PSC membership for you and your child in order to participate.

Sailors to be rigged and ready for 09:00 and boats away at 13:00.

During the winter months, sailors will need full wet suits or dry suits.

Parents, please note that we will need your help with running the tea bar on training days as well as preparing bacon butties on arrival. A roster will be prepared.

Please add a ticket for each youth wishing to attend the course.

You must hold full PSC membership for you and your child in order to participate.

Please Note – The club is not acting in Loco Parentis during any club based training sessions so for legal reasons please ensure that a parent or appointed guardian is present at the club at all times during the training session. We consider this to be very important both in terms of supporting your child and also supporting the squad as a whole, as during the day many volunteers are needed. We look forward to your co–operation so that your child gets the most out of the training here at Papercourt Sailing Club.
