Adult Training
We welcome all abilities to join our Club and endeavour to provide the courses that members' request:
- RYA Level 1 - For complete beginners. Learn how to sail in all directions and about awareness of launching and recovery.
- RYA Level 2 - Basic skills. Build confidence and gain the skills needed to sail and make decisions in good conditions.
For experienced sailors, in the winter there is class specific race training on Saturday mornings organised by Class Captains. See the calendar.
We also provide courses in spinnaker handling, racing, race officer, and powerboat handling.
- RYA Level 2 powerboat/safety boat. Powerboat handling, the use of safety equipment, and recovery techniques. To promote a good standard of safety boat cover for our sailing.
- RYA Instructor and Assistant Instructor courses. We sponsor suitably qualified members to become RYA Instructors, who then contribute to our training and coaching courses at Papercourt.

Our qualified Instructors are volunteer Club members who give their time for the benefit of fellow members. Members must be age 16+ and should email training@papercourt-sc.org.uk to book on any sailing courses. For all other courses email the contact shown.

Get Back in your Boats/Start to Race #4th April
Spring Course #1 (RYA Levels 1 & 2) - Wednesday 8th April to Saturday 6th June. Nine weeks, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Start to Race #2 - Saturday 13th June.
Start Sailing - Two days in Half Term, dates TBA, following the syllabus of RYA Level 1.
Spring Course #2 (RYA Levels 1 & 2) - Wednesday 17th June to Saturday 15th August Nine weeks, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Adult Development - Five alternate Mondays in May and June (alternating with Ladies Sailing). 18th May, 1st June, 15th June, 29th June, 13th July.
Summer Course RYA 1 and 2 - 3rd August to 7th August. Five full days
Start to Race #3 - Saturday Morning 22nd August
Start Sailing - Two days in August, dates TBA, following the syllabus of RYA Level 1.TBC.
RYA Level 2 - 5 Wednesdays and Saturdays in September/October. Dates TBC.
